A -- CONTINUED SUPPORT OF THE GREEN FARM ELECTRIC GUN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT FACILITY SOL DSWA01-97-R-0038 DUE 063097 POC David Nemerow, Negotiator, (703) 325-6627, Daniel R. The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) has a requirement for a 48 month effort for continued operation of the Green Farm Electric Gun R&D Facility (GFEGF) at Naval Air Station (NAS), Mirimar, San Diego, CA. The effort provides for the use of government furnished equipment (GFE) and contractor operational support to users to develop advanced electrothermal-chemical (ETC) propulsion concepts under separate DSWA contracts which are scheduled through the year 2000. The contractor will provide the electrical pulsed power, diagnostics, necessary hardware, technical, administrative, explosives storage and handling, and safety support to the ETC users. The contractor will provide a customer oriented firing service for DoD/Service contractors in support of present and future electric gun R&D programs, such as the U.S. Army's hypervelocity projectile program, U.S. Army's 120mm ETC cartridge development program and the U.S. Navy's large bore indirect fire ETC program. Additionally, the contractor will promote the DSWA electric gun R&D program, including the ongoing electromagnetic projectile lethality program and the ETC cartridge development program. The effort will include an option to either move the facility, shutdown the facility or continue operations until 28 Feb 2001. The contractor shall provide a capital investment to include a Data Acquisition System (DAS). SECRET clearance required. FAST TRACK procedures are to be used.
