16 -- INSTALLATION OF E-2C AFT EQUIPMENT COMPARTMENT SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SOL N00019-97-G-0110 POC Contact, Christine Hill, Phone (703)604-6100 This is for the procurement and installation of E-2C Aft Equipment Compartment(AEC) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) kits. The procurement involves the supplies and services required to manufacture and install twenty-three(23) AEC SATCOM kits for Group O and Group II E-2C aircraft, manufacturer and install twenty-six (26) VME Mini-DAMA Communication Set (MDCS) compatibility upgrade kits and the procurement and installation of seven (7) ship sets of CFE components. Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate with Northrop Grumman Aerospace for efforts related to this procurement. Northrop Grumman is uniquely qualified to provide the supplies and services required for contract completion within the timeframe dictated by fleet operational needs. Northrop Grumman is the sole designer, developer, and intergrator of the SATCOM ECP for Group O and Group II aircraft. Northrop Grumman is the only known firm with the requisite knowledge of, and familiarity with, the highly complex, technically integrated andspecialized aircraft weapons system to accomplish the necessary work without unacceptable delays in supporting retrofit installation schedules and fleet induction needs. -- NAVAIR Synopsis No. 20103-97.
