15 -- INSTALLATION OF GPS, ANVIS/HUD & ETFDS KITS INTO THE CH-53E HELICOPTER POC Contact, Pamela M. Jackson, Phone ( )757-5241 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue an order to EER Systems Incorporated, 10289 Aerospace Road, Seabrook, Maryland 20706-2280 for the procurement of fifteen (15) installations of the following kits: Global Positioning System (GPS), Aviator Night Vision Imaging System Heads-Up Display (ANVIS/HUD) AN/AVS-7, and No. 2 Engine Termal Fire Detector Systems (ETFDS). These kits are to be installed concurrently with the Helicopter Night Vision System (HNVS) on CH-53Es located in Okinawa Japan. This block modification significantly enhances the safety, navigational and operational capabilities of this helicopter. EER is the designer and developer of the prototype HNVS and currently holds the contract for the HNVS installations. Due to limited aircraft availability, a "block modification" is necessary to meet operational requirements. EER is the only known source capable of installing the kits within the required time frame.
