Provide all labor and materials to replace approximately 75 building equipment motors with motors that are of the "premium efficiency energy savings" type with guaranteed minimum eff~iciencies in excess of guaranteed minimum eff~iciencies in compliance with the 1992 Federal Energy Act, at the Main Post Off~ice, New Orleans, Louisiana 70113-9998, in accordance with plans and specifications. All work to be completed such that final payment will be submitted to Contracting Off~icer no later than Tuesday, August 12, 1997. Estimated cost range $240,000.00-$29O,000.00. A 20% proposal bond is required. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payments. The contractor shall subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. Offers will be received in this off~ice, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on June 20, 1997. This is a request for proposals, therefore, no public opening will be conducted. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative standing of offeror will not be disclosed to anyone until after award of a contract is made and the request is submitted in writing.
