The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Cummins-Wagner, Inc., 10901 Pump House Road, Annapolis Junction, MD 20701-1125 on a sole-source basis for one (1) set of QUAD 2000 Controls. Complete set shall include: Standard QUAD 2000 Control Panel, vibration probe for three stages, current transducer, oil system transducer, air system transducer, air temperature RTD, oil temperature RTD, panel mounting bracket, installation hardware, and three sets of documents (drawings & supplements). The supplier shall also provide services to retrofit the Agency's existing TA/MSG Joy Air Compressor with the QUAD 2000 Controls and to remove the existing controls from the TA/MSG Joy Air Compressor. This retrofit shall be performed by a Factory-Trained Field Service Technician. Since Cummins-Wagner is the Factory Representative for Joy Air Compressors, it is uniquely qualified to meet the Agency's requirement. Required delivery is FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, within 90 days after contract award including retrofitting of furnished controls and removal of existing controls. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Written responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available. (0154)
