A -- MAINTENANCE OF A BIOLOGICAL SPECIMEN REPOSITORY SOL NA DUE 071597 POC Joann A. Ciufolo, Contracting Officer, (301) 435-0359 The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under contract to McKesson BioServices, Inc. (N01-HB-17087) to continue the maintenance of the NHLBI biological specimen repository. This contract will be extended for approximately 13 months to August 31, 1998, to allow for reevaluation of the NHLBI repository requirement and recompetition of the NHLBI repository initiative. The authority to use other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as set forth in FAR 6.302-1(b)(1). The incumbent has the unique capability to provide the required space and services to maintain the NHLBI biological specimen repository without the need for relocation and significant disruption.
