The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation currently has a microwave link located near Boise, Idaho that connects the facilities within the Snake River Area West between Black Canyon Dam and Shafer Butte. This equipment, manufactured by Microwave Data Systems, is an MDS 960D microwave system. The Bureau has a requirement to extend this system from Shafer Butte to Anderson Ranch Dam. The new system shall be compatible with the existing digital bandwidth and diagnostic specifications of the current microwave system which allows testing from any point in the system to any other point in the system. Due to the critical nature of these specifications, at this time we anticipate a sole source award to Microwave Data Systems.
