19 -- ACQUISITION OF INLAND RIVER CRANE BARGES SOL DACW61-97-B-0035 DUE 072497 POC William A. Bailey, Contract Specialist, (215) 656-6932 Acquisition of an inland river crane barge with options to purchase two additional crane barges for use in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineer's Maintenance and Repair Missions on the Inland Rivers Systems. Each vessel(s) will be approximately 150-feet ling, 50-feet wide, and 10-feet deep with a draft of 4-feet, 6-inches. The vessel(s) shall be of all steel, welded construction with special consideration given to crane stability and elimination of personnel "pinch-points". The vessel(s) shall have a wooden crane track way, spuds, hull machinery, electric generating systems, office locker room, day room and necessary support systems. The vessel(s) will be designed, build and classed to American Bureau of Shipping rules for Sttel Vessels on Rivers and Intracoastal Waterways. A full spectrum of testing to prove the design and engineering concepts is required. The successful offeror will be required to modify an existing "As-built" design. The design changes will be annotated in the solicitation package. The resulting contract will utilize the Marine Design Center's three-phase contracting methodology. Liquidated damages will apply and bonding is required. This is an unrestricted procurement. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3731 and the Size Standard is 1000 employees.
