McNab, 406/329-3766 The Forest Service requires exterior maintenance of Building 24, Fort Missoula, Missoula County, Montana. Work includes: surface repair, paint preparation, paint removal, removal of existing aluminum storm windows, repair and addition of new hangers for the existing aluminum roof gutter system, painting of various surfaces, powdercoating of existing steel guard and hand rails, installation of new bird control devices. Surface materials include: cast in place concrete walls with various stucco or grout patches with some areas needing repair, wood windows and door frames, trims, wood sash, wood doors, T & G wood porch flooring, wood rafters, beams and joists, steel guard and hand rails, and transit panels. Existing paint systems contain various lead concentrations. This project will be advertised as a written quotation and will be solicited under the new Simplified Acquisition Procurement (SAP) rules. Quotes are due July 18, 1997. The estimated start work date is August 1, 1997. The project must be completed by October 15, 1997. The estimated price range is between S25,000 and S100,000. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered and include a written plan describing methods, materials, schedule and a health and safety plan as required showing how OSHA requirements for worker protection shall be followed in accordance with 29CFR 1926.62, Lead exposure in construction.
