COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 29,1997 PSA#1855BLM, BC-660, Bldg #50, Denver Federal Center, P.O. Box 25047, Denver,
CO 80225-0047 P -- TEARDOWN OF COAL GASIFICATION PLANT, ROTARY KILN FACILITY AND
SUPERSTRUCTURES, MINNEAPOLIS, MN SOL 1422-N660-Q97-2007 DUE 070897 POC
Nancy Thompson, 303-236-9437, Procurement Clerk The Bureau of Land
Management has a requirement for a formal teardown to remove two
research structures from the property of the former Bureau of Mines,
Twin Cities Research Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota. These two
structures include a coal gasification system including a
Wellman-Galusha (SN 78-218) gasifier encased in a metal sheet building,
a rotary kiln facility and all outside superstructures associated with
the support and covering of the facilities, concrete pads, footings,
retaining walls and drains. Due to the potential reuse of some of the
system components and the high quality of the scrap materials, as well
as the quantity of stainless steel associated with the coal
gasification system, the Government anticipates that the successful
offeror may well obtain revenue from the demolition and removal.
Offerors are expected to reflect such revenue amounts in their quote.
The contractor shall dispose of all materials, cleanup and restore the
site in accordance with the solicitation and in compliance with local,
state and federal laws and regulations. A site inspection is expected
to be held the middle of June. Prospective offerors are STRONGLY URGED
AND EXPECTED to attend this inspection. This is an unrestricted
acquisition, and all offerors are encouraged to submit a quote.
Solicitation documents should be available on or about June 9, 1997.
