This project includes furnishing all material, labor, equipment and supervision for the removal of HVAC system servicing the one story above grade dining room wing in Melville Hall. A new 50 ton roof top packaged unit is to be installed. Included in the work are all associated heating, ventilation and air-conditioning elements such as duct work, controls and electrical work, as well as structural steel roof reinforcement and minor general construction work. All work shall be completed by November 30, 1997. The estimated cost of construction is between $100,000 and $250,000. A site visit is tentatively scheduled for 24 June 1997 at the Academy's Safety Training Center, Room N308, Furuseth Hall. The applicable SIC code is 1711 and the industry small business size is $7.0 million. A limited number of solicitation packages will be available and issued on a first come first served basis. Only one set of plans and specifications will be provided to each requester, for which there will be no charge. Requests shall be made in writing and include telephone number with area code, complete mailing address with zip code and solicitation number (DTMA95-97-B-00002) and title. Telephone requests shall not be honored. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. This Notice is for information purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms topple for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
