V -- CONTAINER FREIGHT STATION FOR IMPORT/EXPORT DEF TRANSPORTATION(DTS) FREIGHT IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA SOL DAMTO3-97-R-0003 DUE 070797 POC ANN ETHERINGTON 510 466-3026 OR JOYCE CAVALES 510 466-2703(Site Code DAMT03) The Military Traffic Management Command, Western Area requires container freight station services located in the modified commercial zone of San Francisco Bay area in support of cargo processed through the 1302nd Major Port Command (MPC). A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) requirements contract is anticipated with a base period of twenty-four (24) months and three (3) one year options periods. A two week phase in period will begin in mid September 97. The contractor is required to furnish facilities, management, labor, supplies, equipment, and materials to handle Defense Transportation System (DTS) cargo and service member household goods. The contractor will be required to perform the following operations: loading/unloading import/export cargo from/into/onto railcars, trucks, and containers. Services include receiving, clerking, checking, documenting, transferring, warehousing, segregating, marking, labeling, processing, chocking, bracing, lashing, and securing DTS freight. The 1302nd MPC, currently located at Oakland Army Base, CA, is expected to relocate to Naval Weapons Station, Concord, CA prior to the anticipated contract start date.
