The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requires the boilers at the Boulder, CO site to be updated to meet local codes and modern standards. All materials and labor shall be supplied by the contractor. The main room has 4 units consisting of three 1950 vintage International units: one was updated with an Industrial Combustion Corporation I/C unit; another unit is a 1980s Kewanee. These boilers gas vent lines shall be replaced to proper size as determined by code standards. High steam limit (manual reset) low water cutoff (manual reset) shall be upgraded or replaced. Boilers 1 and 2 control station shall be updated with Nema 12 cabinet (industrial type) to match Number 4 boiler's cabinet, with proper operating equipment. Cabinet shall include indicator lights for power on, pilot, main flame or flame failure, low water, steam pressure to 12 psi. Cabinet shall have Low/High fire indicator for Boilers 1 & 2. Number 2 boiler requires a gas regulator valve. Main room boiler number 3 gasvalve actuators (Honeywell) needs replacing with new gas valve with proof of closure. Number 4 boiler requires a new valve actuator. Building 24 has two boilers (Cleaver Brooks) each requiring new 2" gas shutoff plug valves; #11 boiler requires a 2" gas actuator proof of closure valve. Building 3 boiler (Titusville) requires a gas regulator valve. Boiler numbers 1, 2, 4, 5 & 6, Buildings 21, 22 and 25 all require low water cutoff (manual) reset, high steam or low water limits (manual) resets. Boilers #1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 10, and 11 shall be updated with Fireye E 100 controllers. All bases will accept the E 100's controllers. All boilers shall be mechanically adjusted and analyzed (co2, nox, as specified in local code standards) to its best operating efficiency. It is not the intent of the Government to issue a separate solicitation for this requirement. Interested sources proposing to supply these services and items must submit a written qualification statement by fax, clearly establishing capability to meet the above requirements within 15 days of this synopsis.
