Administration (SSA) has a requirement for the purchase, installation
and maintenance of a digital telecommunications switching system and
ancillary equipment for the SSA Office of Hearing and Appeals (OHA)
located in Falls Church, Virginia. SSA's requirement is for a Fugitsu
9600XL or equivalent. The initial system should provide service for
1,200 lines and be expandable to 1,600 lines. The proposed contract
shall provide for a year-warranty with 6 one-year option periods for
optional equipment, services and maintenance support. Maintenance
support shall include a full time (eight hours per day -- 40 hours per
week) on-site technician at the OHA who is highly skilled in technical
project management and technically certified by the equipment
manufacturers to perform the required engineering, installation and
maintenance services on all installed telecommunications equipment
awarded thru this contract. The contractor shall provide engineering,
labor, wiring, installation, on-site spare parts, documentation and
training for all system and station hardware, software, firmware growth
and equipment rearrangements (moves, adds and changes) at the OHA over
the term of the contract. Only written requests for solicitation
number SSA-RFP-97-3093 will be accepted within 15 days from the date of
