The equipment is being purchased for the support of the National Weather Service, National Reconditioning Center in support of the National Weather Service repair programs. The parts in question are source controlled and believed to be proprietary to Vaisala, Inc. Of Woburn, MA. The Government does not have rights in data, drawings, or specifications. It is believed that the only known source for the purchase of these items is Vaisala, Inc. Due to interchange ability of parts no other manufacturing source is acceptable. The Government intends to contract with Vaisala for the equipment required. The proposed procurement action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit to only one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). This is not a call for proposals. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days of it's publication. Interested firms shall submit in writing, it's name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and a brief statement regarding its capability to provide the specified equipment, and the name, telephone number, and point of contact for businesses or other Government agencies to which it has previously provided the equipment specified above. No response will be provided to those inquiries which fail to provide the information requested. This information shall be submitted to the addresses stated herein or may be faxed to telephone number 816-426-7530. A solicitation will be issued on or about 15 days from date of this announcement. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. The Government reserves the right to solicit offers based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice.
