Secret Service intends to modify Contract No. TSS950011 with Sprint to purchase and maintain upgraded equipment for two (2) Tandem C-series messaging systems consisting of 16MB processors, with a combination of 648MB and 1GB mirrored disk drives, a Tandem 5170 reel to reel tape drive and 2564B line printer. The communication lines are supported by Tandem 3605/3606 asyncronous and bit-sync (X25) controllers operating at 19.2 and 9.6 bps respectively. The present operating system is level C30.09 of the Guardian 90(OS) and the application E-mail system is SprintMail F07(b). Additionally, each system maintains a CD ROM based library. The messaging system processes a variety of inter- office, intra-office, and personal electronic mail.
