The description of the proposed construction project will include but not be limited to, providing all plant, labor, material, equipment, appliances, and supervision required for the construction and renovation consisting of 13 latrines; six female and seven males in five buildings. The remodeling will consist of concrete slabs, masonry walls, metal decks, and roofing, suspended ceilings, ceramic tile floor and walls, new fixtures, lighting, drainage and all requirements to make complete and useable facilities. The buildings currently house maintenance shops and administrative functions. This solicitation will result in a construction contract which requires performance and payment bonding. This will result in a firm fixed price award. All interested, capable, and responsible contractors are requested to send a WRITTEN response to this announcement on company letterhead no later than June 12, 1997. The applicable small business size standard including affiliates is no more than $17.0 million average annual revenue for the previous three years. The plans will be available for inspection without charge around June 13, 1997 at the Delaware Contractors Association, at 527 Christiana-Stanton Road, Newark, Delaware. The performance period is for 210 calendar days from the issuance of the notice to proceed date. The anticipated award date is on or about 15 August 1997 with performance start date planned early September of 1997. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 1542. The estimated Construction cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. The solicitation package will be available on or about May 1997. There will be a charge for the invitation for bid (IFB) package. This amount will be stated in the request for sources announcement in mid June time frame. The Optional project site visit is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, 19 June 1997, at the Delaware Air National Guard Base Building 2803, in the vicinity of the New Castle County Airport in New Castle, DE.
