E-MAIL: Sandra L. Presnell, sandra.presnell@msfc.nasa.gov. NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Research and Development Hardware Fabrication and Assembly Services. This performance based contract will require the contractor to provide (1) fabrication services for the manufacture of R&D space flight experiments, flight ground support equipment, space flight supporting hardware, ground test hardware, test fixtures (dynamic, thermal vacuum, and tructural) and prototype/mockup hardware or end items made from metal, plastic, and wood materials;(2) the refurbishment of valves (cleaning and remachining) and similar facility items; and (3) electrical/mechanical engineering test technician support. Services will be performed on-site at MSFC with additional capability/capacity being provided at contractor owned facilities. The period of performance will be for a 1-year base period with four 1-year option periods. This procurement is an 8(a) set-aside national buy. The SIC Code is 3769. The anticipated release date of RFP 8-P-7-EH-75101 is on orabout May 20, 1997. Proposals in response to the RFP will consist of two submittals. The due date for Submittal I is June 10, 1997, and the due date for Submittal II is June 24, 1997. THIS IS THE FINAL RFP. The Draft RFP was released on April 17, 1997 and comments on the Draft RFP were received from industry on May 1, 1997. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B".
