NETHERLANDS: DECREE AMENDING APPENDIX VI TO THE INLAND SHIPPING DECREE IN THE LIGHT OF THE REVISION OF THE REGULATIONS AND PROVISIONS ON THE TRANSPORT OF HARMFUL SUBSTANCES VIA DUTCH INLAND WATERWAYS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.177. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: NETHERLANDS. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, Directorate General of Shipping and Maritime Affairs (DGSM). Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the notification can be indicated if different from above: National Enquiry Point. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Inland vessels, specifically State vessels, which use the Dutch inland waterways. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Decree Amending Appendix VI to the Inland Shipping Decree in the Light of the Revision of the Regulations and Provisions on the Transport of Harmful Substances Via Dutch Inland Waterways. 6. Description of content: This Decree provides for the amendment of Appendix VI of the Inland Shipping Decree further to the Regulation on the transport of harmful substances via inland waterways 1997 (VBG) which came into force on 1 January 1997. 7. Objective and rationale: Appendix VI of the Inland Shipping Decree, amended by the present Decree, contains new technical regulations for State vessels with regard to choosing a mooring place alongside ships transporting harmful substances. 8. Relevant documents: Inland Shipping Act (Stb. 1981, 687), insofar as amended subsequently; the purport of the Inland Shipping Decree (Stb. 1987, 466), is to implement Directive 76/135/EEC, as amended by Directive 78/1016/EEC and of Directive 82/714/EEC. 9.
