Government Corporation, intends to negotiate a firm fixed-price
construction contract for the cleaning and painting of two 77'-0" and
two 82'-0" miter gate leaves,consisting of: (1) cleaning the interior
and exterior, removing existing coal tar enamel, and abrasive blast
cleaning; (2) painting the exterior above the water line with an
inorganic zinc primer and a coal tarpolyurethane coating; (3) painting
the exterior below the water line and the interior with a hot-applied
coal tar enamel system; and (4) performing other appurtenant work as
required for a complete job. -- Solicitation documents will be
available on or about May 12, 1997. -- The estimated price range is
from $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. -- Estimated contract completion date is
July 16, 1998. -- Evaluation/award criteria will be contained in the
RFP. Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose proposal is
most advantageous to the Government, technical, price, and other
