COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 6,1997 PSA#1839U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 26 W. Martin Luther King Dr.,
Cincinnati, OH 45268 66 -- DESORPTION/CONCENTRATION SYSTEM FOR GAS CHROMATOGRAPH SOL RFQ
No. FA6746 POC Deanna Easley, Contract Specialist, 513-366-2027 WEB:
Office of Acquisition Management -- Cincinnati Contracts Mgmt.
Division, http://www.epa.gov/oam/cinn_cmd. The US EPA, Air Pollution &
Prevention Control Division (APPCD), Research Triangle Park, N.C.,
develops methods to characterize sources of indoor air pollution. This
effort requires that APPCD have the capacity to identify and quantify
organic vapor contaminants (VOCs) that are emitted to the air by many
types of sources. In order to meet the minimum requirements, the unit
shall meet the following performance specifications: for a fully
integrated and automated thermal desorber and preconcentrator unit
capable of (1) automatically thermally desorbing and preconcentrating
organic air contaminants collected on 8" long by 0.25" OD sorbent
traps; (2) preconcentrating contaminants collected in whole air samples
(canisters); and (3) direct concentration of analytes from chambers or
sample manifolds. The system shall have a demonstrated ability to
manage excessive water and C02 associated with the sample and all
transfer tubing shall be temperature controllable and lined with
deactivated fused silica to ensure transfer of polar analytes through
the system. The system shall be listed and labeled by a third party
listing agency approved by the North Carolina Building Code Council.
The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for the
desorption/concentration system. Requests for a copy of RFQ FA-6746
must be in writing; requests may be faxed to D. Easley at 513-366-2107.
No telephone requests will be honored. (0121) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0211 19970506\66-0001.SOL)
