geotechnical boring equipment with operating personnel and supplies
under a requirements contract for the following: 4- to 6-inch flight
auger borings, 4- to 8-inch cased and uncased borings, mud rotary
drilling, 3 1/4- to 6 5/8-inch I.D. hollow stem auger borings, standard
penetration tests with automatic hammer, drive sampling with split
barrel samplers up to 3 inches, 3- and 5-inch thin wall soil sampling,
3- and 5-inch piston sampling, NQ, HQ, and 6-inch rock coring, up to
2-inch diameter piezometer and monitoring well, and 3.5-inch O.D.
Indinometer installation, steam cleaning, and pump with tremie system
to backfill and grout boreholes. Average depth of holes will be 50
feet, but depths to 300 feet may be required. Personnel shall be
experienced and possess current safety training for level C and level
D conditions as described by OSHA. Personnel shall have all applicable
State and Federal drilling licenses and certifications. Work to be
performed in either Western Minnesota/Eastern NorthDakota/Northern Iowa
or Eastern Minnesota/Western Wisconsin/Northern Iowa. The solicitation
may result in more than one contract. Contractor will perform services
under individual delivery orders over a 1-year period. The Government
may, under it's own discretion, extend the contract for up to 2
additional years. This procurement is issued unrestricted. SIC Code --
7359 (for informational purposes the size standard for this SIC Code
is $5 million). The solicitation package for this project is expected
to be available approximately May 19, 1997, with bid opening on or
about June 18, 1997. Documents may be obtained by written request to
the Contracting Division (address as listed above) specify Sol. No.
DACW37-97- B-0010. After the issue date documents will also be
available in the Contracting Division on the 8th floor of the Army
Corps of Engineers Centre, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30
