Wolfe, Jr. (304)285-5883 THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation is issued as Request for Quotation No. 97-011. This procurement is being issued unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Classification is 3829 with a size standard of 500 employees. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46. Contract Line Item (CLIN) 1 -- 6 EACH, RESPIRATOR FIT TESTERS such as a PORTA-COUNT Plus, TSI Model 8020 or an equivalent unit MEETING THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS: The Unit shall (1) be able to measure fit factors from 1 to at least 10,000; ( 2) be able to measure from .01 to 5x105 particles/cm (preferably a condensation particle counter); (3) be able to detect particles in the size range 0.02 to greater than 1 micron; (4) have a minimum of a 2 year warranty on parts and labor; (5) have an RS-232 port to control operation of the tester and to read out test results. The port must be capable of being controlled with an IBM-PC compatible computer. The port must have a Baud Rate of at least 9600 and should use ASCII characters; (6) have two computer controlled inputs (an ambient and sample port) to measure particle counts on both sides of a filter being tested; (7) be able to operate on batteries or AC power supply; ( 8) be provided with HEPA filter assembly for zeroing the device; ( 9) be portable; (10) have a flow rate of less than 1 L/min; and, (11) be able to operate within chambers or generators. The Government will evaluate based on F.O.B. Destination (Morgantown, West Virginia) and the requirements at FAR 52.214.21 "Descriptive Literature" apply. Information provided must demonstrate the unit's ability to meet the specification or your offer may be rejected.
