63 -- SAMPLING PROBE FOR AUTOMATIC CHEMICAL AGENT ALARM (ACADA) DUE 053097 POC Mr. John Jump (410)671-5760 or Contract Specialist Mr. Jerry Taulbee (410)671-4447 The U.S. Army Chemical and Biological Command (CBDCOM) hereby issues a Request for Information regarding the status and availability of potential surface samplers for use with chemical warfare agents. The U.S. Joint Services have identified a need for a surface sampler kit to be used with the XM22 Automatic Chemical Agent Alarm (ACADA). The purpose of the surface sampler kit is to aid the ACADA in the detection of deposited chemical agent liquids on various surfaces or terrains by vaporizing the liquid for transport to the alarm. Of special interest are information of the items flow requirements (if any); the time required to vaporize deposited liquids and transfer the vapor to the inlet of the ACADA; environmental constraints for the use and operation of the sampler; size, weight, and power consumption requirements; and the current application for the use of the sampler. Responses should be mailed no later than May 30, 1997 to: CMDR, PM-NBC, Attn: AMCPM-NNJ (John Jump), Building E3549, APG MD 21010-5423. While this request does not constitute a commitment by the Government to purchase any system(s), responses should provide sufficient information to allow the performance of cost/benefit analyses of implementing the surface sampler into the ACADA system. The time frame of interest spans FY97 through FY99 with the end quantities for acquisition ranging from 50 to 100 systems for integration, test and evaluation of the surface sampler with the ACADA system.
