(1) Replace three existing 295 ton chillers (two screw-type using R-22 refrigerant and one centrifugal-type using R-11 refrigerant) with high efficiency, centrifugal-type chillers, using either R-134a or R-123 refrigerant. (2) Renovate the three (3) existing cooling towers. (3) Expedited replacement of one screw-type chiller which is out service is desired. (4) The first unit can be replaced immediately with the remaining work to follow after the cooling season. (5) The estimated price range is between $600,000 and $700,00 with completion within 180 days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed . (6) A pre-proposal conference is scheduled at 5/8 @10:00 AM, 2400 Orange Ave., contractors planning on submitting a proposal should make every effort to attend. (7) Selection and award criteria will be based on (a) Delivery on 1st unit (b) Chiller effeciency and (c) cost, not to the lowest offer. Plans and specifications will be available at a cost $60.00 per set (non-refundable).
