T -- AIRBORNE LASER TERRAIN ELEVATION SYSTEM AND SURVEYS POC Contract Specialist, Lynn Brannan, 301/227-2295, FAX 301/227-2218 or 5573, Contracting Officer, Lynn Martin, 301/227-2158 Sources Sought -- This pre solicitation notice is published to identify interested sources to supply a laser airborne capability to collect digital terrain elevation data to the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), Bethesda, Maryland. NIMA is interested in information on system capabilities and in the leasing/acquisition of survey services (including flight services and data processing). NIMA currently collects digital elevation data in several ways, but requires a mobile collection asset which can provide gap-fill capability in areas of sparse collection and full survey coverage in data void areas. Data accuracy and density need to be 30 meters each, as a minimum. Include information on data accuracy and density, swath width, platform requirements (i.e., platform specific system, various platform types {fixed wing, helicopter}, multiple platforms flexibility {i.e., various fixed wing aircraft}, platform guidance systems, etc.), positioning system information, eye safety precautions, flight services, operations, maintenance, aircraft modifications, system and services cost (initial, life cycle, operations, maintenance, flight, and platform modification costs), performance capabilities (i.e., processing time required), and vegetation and building removal. Firms that believe they have the capability to deliver a system/services to meet these needs (or the functional equivalent) are invited to submit product, capability, and cost information to this office. This is not a request for proposals. Responses must be received within 15 days from the date of publication of this notice. All responsive and responsible offerors will be considered. (0107)
