existing cooling water piping for generator unit No. 1 is in a
deteriorated condition due to corrosion and is to be removed from the
powerplant and disposed of. The existing carbon steel piping will be
replaced with new stainless steel piping. Manual valving in the cooling
water piping will also be replaced. An existing pneumatically operated
butterfly valve and eight existing sight flow indicators will be
reinstalled in the new piping. Two existing twin basket strainers will
be replaced with two new Government-furnished automatic,
motor-operated, self-cleaning strainer assemblies at generator units
No. 1 and No. 3. In conjunction with the strainer installation at unit
No. 3, Government-furnished stainless steel piping components will be
fabricated and installed. Two new generator bearing cooling coil
assemblies will be furnished. The on-site work is scheduled to be
completed during the unit overhaul period from September 22, 1997
through December 24, 1997. The estimated issuance date is May 16, 1997;
the estimated bid date is June 17, 1997. For this acquisition, the
standard industrial classification code is 1711, and the small business
size standard is $7 million. Solicitation copies can be viewed after

City, Nevada. There is a nonrefundable charge of $15 per copy of the
