The Marine Corps Systems Command has a requirement for the fabrication of bivy covers. The bivy cover is designed to be used primarily in cold and/or wet weather with the Modular Sleeping Bag system. The bivy cover will provide protection against moisture and provide additional insulation from cold air when used with the Modular Sleeping Bag and Sleeping Mat. It can be used in both cold and temperate climates as a lightweight alternative to a shelter half or tent. The only approved fabrics for this effort are: Part No. WC1995MBP, GS1995MBP, and WC1996MBP, manufactured by Duro Industries, Inc., 110 Chase Street, Fall River, MA 02724. An IDIQ contract will be awarded with a minimum of 25,000 bivy covers procured over a five year period. This requirement is set-aside to small businesses, under SIC Code 2399.
