38 -- ROAD MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT FOR THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA POC Business Promotion Consultants, Inc., 4005 Penn Belt Place, Forestville, MD 20747, Tim Bensch, Tel: 301-967-7930, Fax: 301-967-7391 THIS IS A MODIFICATION TO THE NOTICE PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED UNDER SYNOPSIS #SN041131-0236 ON 13 MARCH 1997. Business Promotion Consultants, Inc. (BPC), under Contract #TDA-5756-C-00-6239 with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (TDA), will be procuring road maintenance and related equipment on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Albania. Under terms of the grant from the U.S. Government with the Government of the Republic of Albania (GRA), equipment procured is to be used in maintenance of road surfaces on the East-West Corridor, specifically between Elbasan and Qaf e Thanes, as part of the South Balkan Development Initiative. Each piece of equipment procured must be of U.S. source and origin (i.e. at least 51% of total cost of manufacture -- componentry plus labor -- must have been manufactured/performed in the U.S.). SEPARATE SOLICITATIONS IN THIS SERIES WILL BE ISSUED FOR EACH OF THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: A) ASPHALT EQUIPMENT; B) "HIGH-RAIL" CRANES (EQUIPPED FOR USE ON HIGHWAY AND RAIL); C) OTHER CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT (INCLUDING BACKHOE LOADERS, EXCAVATORS, AND TANDEM VIBRATORY ROLLERS); D) EQUIPMENT TRAILERS; E) LIGHT TRUCKS AND TRUCK CHASSIS; AND F) MOBILE WORKSHOP. BPC anticipates release of the solicitation document on or about 01 May 1997, with bids due no later than 30 May 1997. The ultimate destination of the equipment to be procured is the Republic of Albania. Actual delivery of equipment will be determined by the local political situation.
