This is a sources sought, market survey synopsis for commercial disposal services, to include recycling, reuse or reclamation of current and anticipated generations of excess automotive tires. Excess automotive tire generations will consist primarily of medium and heavy truck tires. A limited number of passenger and light truck tires are expected to become available. Tires are of various sizes, conditions and types. Excess tires are generated and stored at 11 sites within the State of California. Tires are off rim. Some tires may already be baled together. Tire sizes may include: 16R20.0, 16R22.5, 16R24.0, 14.5R20 and 37X12.5R16.5. Offerors will be required to comply with all Federal and state regulations concerning the transportation, storage, reduction in volume, recycling or ultimate disposal of automotive tires. The tires are classified as a nonhazardous, regulated, solid waste. The Government anticipates awarding a firm fixed-price requirements-type service contract using FAR Part 12 procedures. The period of performance is anticipated to be 12 months from date of award with one (1) each 12-month option period.
