Thomas The National Science Foundation (NSF) is soliciting proposals to provide analytical and technical support for a wide variety of analytical projects conducted by the Division of Science Resources Studies (SRS). The support will allow NSF to augment its fulfillment of Congressionally-mandated responsibilities to interpret and analyze data on the Nation's science and engineering (S&E) resources. This new requirement includes a range of support services including: development and writing of new analytical, exploratory, or concept papers and/or reports; assistance in developing sections in ongoing report series produced by SRS; in-depth, comprehensive, statistical analyses of databases related to the Nation's S&E resources; technical review of analytical reports; editorial support; and very rapid turn-around projects providing any or all of these types of support. The contractor will be required to demonstrate or develop expertise in a wide range of subjects relating to S&E resources, including:S&E academic programs (enrollments, degrees, faculty, etc.); academic infrastructure for science and technology; science and technology in industry; impacts of S&T on the economy and in society; S&E work force issues; and R&D funding issues. The contractor will also be required to demonstrate or develop expertise in various NSF or other databases for rapid analysis and table production. NSF's strict confidentiality guidelines will be followed throughout the course of this award. NSF expects to award at least one task order contract for a 5-year period.
