COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 16,1997 PSA#1825SPECIAL NOTICE This cancels and supercedes Special Notice published on
April 11, 1997. FUTURE AIRWAY FACILITIES OUTLOOK Scope: As the U.S.
civil aviation community enters its second century of operation, a
myriad of factors will challenge the FAA to maintain its role as world
leader in aviation safety. The National Airspace System (NAS)
infrastructure is being enhanced to meet these challenges and these
enhancements will be accomplished through the use of sound business
strategies. Airway Facilities (AF) relies on collaboration with the
aviation community to develop the necessary strategies to achieve the
desired delivery of NAS services. At this ATCA symposium, AF will
provide an overview of several service delivery initiatives. The
session will also focus on three of AF's strategic areas: the
enhancement of NAS operations, the implementation of new technologies
to increase the service delivery effectiveness, and the use of sound
business practices to ensure these efficiencies. We will discuss how
these themes advance us to meet future needs and we will also address
some associated issues. Only by providing our thoughts as an aviation
community can we be assured of having our service providers meet our
future needs. If you are interested in attending, contact Carol
Newmaster at 703-522-5717. Registration before May 1 is $125 for
members and $160 for non-members; on-site registration is $150 for
members and $185 for non-members. AGENDA 8:45 a.m. -- 9:05 a.m. ATCA
