On behalf of the Product Manager for Mortar Systems, the U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC is contemplating a full and open competition procurement of the M1020 Ignition Cartridge for the 120mm Mortar System. The contractor shall purchase or manufacture all component hardware for the M1020 cartridge, including the M48 propellant, and shall load, assemble and pack (LAP). The contractor shall have the storage capability to safely store up to 30,000 lbs. of propellant. The cartridge requirements are approximately 42,000 in FY97, with option buys in FY98-FY2001. The Technical Data Package (TDP) is limited to Distribution Statement D. Also, potential offerors are required to request, sign and return a "Confidential Non-Disclosure Statement and Non-Use Agreement" prior to receipt of the TDP.
