536-8550 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Western-Pacific
Region has a requirement for the installation of a Government Furnished
100 KW Engine Generator and associated equipment at the Sacramento
Metro Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT), located at the Sacramento
International Airport, Sacramento, California. The contractor shall
provide all labor, equipment (except Government Furnished Materials),
transportation and materials required to upgrade the existing essential
power distribution system and replace the existing generator. Work
shall include but is not limited to: providing reliable stand-by
electrical power for the ATCT during all phases of the project, remove
existing 60 KW engine generator set, control panel, isolation switch,
essential power disconnect switch, load bank, starting battery and
battery rack, coordinate the transportation and moving of all new
Government Furnished material from the local Kohler distributor located
in West Sacramento, California to the Sacramento ATCT, replace various
existing power distribution panels, supply panels and install five
power distribution panels, install Government furnished engine
generator, automatic transfer/bypass switch, battery charger, day tank,
load bank controls and remote radiator and complete system checkout and
testing as specified by Kohler checkout and test procedures and all
associated work. All work shall be in strict accordance with FAA plans
and specifications. The period of performance is established for sixty
(60) calendar days. The period of performance is mandatory and shall be
performed within this time frame. The FAA currently has five (5) known
sources that it intends to solicit for responses to this requirement.
In addition to these known sources, the FAA will provide a
solicitation to the first fifthteen (15) written requests responding to
this announcement on a "first come" basis only. All interested parties
must submit their written request in writing and may be FAXed to the
attention of Cynthia Alatorre at FAX number (310) 536-8550 or e-mail to
Cyndy.Alatorre@FAA.Dot.Gov. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
NOTE: Request for Offers (RFO) shall be issued to offerors that have
met and fulfilled the pre-qualification criteria as required in a
Screening Informaton Request (SIR) for this procurement request. An
evaluation of potential bidders shall be performed and shall be based
on the followoing factors: 1) Past Performance & References if similar
work performed; 2) Financial Capacity; 3) Credit References; 4)
Technical Expertise with a minimum of five (5) years direct
responsibility for the installation of a 100 KW engine generator and
associated equipment and, 5) Bonding Capacity up to $250,000. The
Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) for this procurement is 1796
and includes an estimated price range of $50,000.00 to $100,000.00. An
issue date for the Request for Offer DTFA08-97-B-10767 is currently
scheduled for/or on about April 14, 1997, with responses due on or
