(USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Field Servicing
Office (FSO) is conducting market research on behalf of the Grain
Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA), for a fully
automated version of the current approved official grain dockage
apparatus. The current approved apparatus consists of the Carter Day
Dockage Tester, Model XT-3 . GIPSA anticipates approving and
standardizing on a fully automated version of the apparatus for
automated official dockage determinations in export grain inspection
facilities. Consideration on whether to proceed with a procurement of
a fully automated version of the apparatus for some non-export official
laboratories depends on whether it represents a greater value for the
government than continued use of the approved manual method. Interested
