The work is situated approximately 4 miles south of Newman, California, in Stanislaus and Merced Counties. The principal components of the work to be performed under these specifications include the following: a. Earthwork for and construction of approximately 7 miles of concrete-lined canal and open laterals. b. Earthwork for and construction of J reservoir. c. Earthwork for and construction of the following reinforced concrete structures and pipe structures: (1) Road crossing structures. (2) Check Structures (3) Turnout structures (4) Gated culvert structures (5) Drainage crossing structures (6) Main Canal inlet structure (7) Ramp flume (8) Reservoir inlet structure (9) Wasteway structure. d. Constructing Highway 33 road crossing. e. Furnishing and installing miscellaneous metalwork and mechanical items for the structures listed above. f. Furnishing and installing cast iron slide gates and lifts. g. Seeding earth surfaces and disturbed areas. (0092)
