The Federal Bureau of Prisons, South Central Regional Office, Dallas, TX plans to issue solicitation IFB 108-0140 for an upgrade of the fire sprinkler protection system located in various buildings at the Federal Correctional Institution, Oakdale, LA. The work required by this contract shall include furnishing all labor and materials for the complete installation and testing of the system. This is a wet pipe system employing automatic sprinklers attached to a piping system containing water and connected to a water supply so that water discharges immediately from sprinklers opened by fire. The estimated magnitude of this contract is between $25,000 and $100,000. The IFB will be available on or about April 18, 1997 with an anticipted deadline of bids on May 19, 1997.
