solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the
format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation
will not be issued. Solicitation 53SBNB760099 is issued as a Request
for Quotation.. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions
and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular
90-45. This action is being done under Simplifed Acquisition
Procedures. This action is unrestricted. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) code is 3829. The small business size standard is
500 employees. CLIN 0001 is for one each of a Split Pair
Superconducting Magnet System for Neutron Diffraction consisting of the
following specifications: Superconducting vertical field
symmetric/asymmetric split pair magnet, Central Field (using center tap
for asymmetric mode): 7.5 tesla at 4.2 Kelvin in symmetric mode, 9.0
tesla at 2.2 Kelvin in symmetric mode, 6.0 tesla at 4.2 Kelvin in
asymmetric mode, 7.2 tesla at 2.2 Kelvin in asymmetric mode ; Neutron
Access: Vertical: 32 millimeter plus 5 degrees, Hortizal: 340 degrees,
Homogeneity: less than one percent over 15 millimeter Diameter
Spherical Volume (DSV) in Symmetric mode, less than 7 percent over a
15millimeter DSV in asymmetric mode, Diode/Resistor protection circuit,
Cryostat: Hold time magnet persistent and sample at 300 Kelvin: greater
than 84 hours, Variable Temperature Insert: allow operation from 1.5
Kelvin to 300 Kelvin, Sample diameter greater than 32 millimeters,
Motorized needle value for automated temperature control of sample
space, Helium 3 single shot Sorption pump insert:Temperature range: 32
to 300 Kelvin, Base temperature: 320 milliKelvin, Base temperature
hold time:(no heat load) 48 hours, He3 sample size 25 millimeter
diameter; Helium level meter and Probe. Installation shall include
assembly, set-up, cool down, leak check, operation and training of
system ( cryogens for installation not included). F.O.B Point:
Destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Delivery Required: 6 months from
contract award including installaton and training. The provision at FAR

Evaluation of Commercial Items: The Government will award to the
responsible bidder offering the lowest priced technically acceptable
offer. Bidders responding to this quotation must submit unit and
extended price for all requested items, prompt payment terms, past
performance information, product literature, and a completed copy of
the provision at FAR 52-212-3, Offer Representations and Certifications
