293-5293 Provide lifeguard and pool manager services for the U. S.
Naval Station, Annapolis, MD North Severn and South Severn Pools for
the 1997 swimming season beginning Friday, 23 May 1997 through Monday,
1 September 1997. Contractor is required to obtain a policy of
Comprehensive General Liability (CGL) insurance in the amount of
$500,000 per person with a $1,000,000 total limit per occurrence for
bodily injury or death, and coverage of $100,000 for property damage
per occurrence to the Moral, Welfare and Recretation (MWR) Department
or U S Naval Academy owned property. Policy must be written by a
commercial insurance company, which includes the MWR organization and
the U S Navy as named insured under the insurance policy coverage. Such
CGL insurance must be "primary" coverage, not secondary to or
contributory with any other liability insurance policy. Pool hours are
11:30 am to 7:00pm six days week (South closed Mondays; North closed
Tuesdays) with the following exceptions. One guard for the North Pool
for Lifeguard Certification course 13-27 June 1997 (36 hours).
Curtailed hours -- 1500-1900 May 23, 27-30; June 2-6, August 25-29
(public schools in session). One guard for the South Pool for Navy
Junior Swim Team weekday practices and two Saturday home meets;
0730-0900 Monday through Friday, June 16 through August 1. Saturday
meets are from 0730-1200. Two guards for the South Pool for Red Cross
Swim Lesson Proram, 6 weeks, 0900-1200. Two guards for the North and/or
South Pool for private pool parties when scheduled, 1900-2200, (approx.
6-8 per month). Both pools are open on holiday Mondays on May 26 and
September 1. Contractor is responsible to ensure pools are fully
staffed during the above hours of operation. Lifeguard staff must have
certifications in CPR, first aid and lifesaving. In addition, one pool
manager will be on duty at each pool during regular hours of operation.
Pool managers must have pool operator certification in addition to the
certifications mentioned above. Other responsibilities and information
