D -- DEC SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE SUPPORT SERVICES SOL CONTRACT #223-96-5593/MOD 3 POC Contract Specialist, Melissa Starinsky or Contracting Officer, Dennis Hunt at (301) 443-1555 The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to issue a modification under existing FDA Contract #223-96-5593 to Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) for Agency-Wide Software Maintenance Support Services for DEC proprietary software such as VAX/VMS, DECNET-VAX, VAX CDD, DEC C, VAX DATARETRIEVE, VAX FMS, etc., which is run on a variety of DEC platforms. Support shall be provided from the effective date of the modification through November 30, 1999. Other than full and open competition is justified because only DEC possesses the required copyrights, knowledge, expertise, and rights to the software and associated support.
