The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a design-build project to dredge, aerate, and landscape two (2) ponds on the NIST site located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Each pond is in the three (3) to five (5) acre range. The requirement includes design-build options for fountains in the ponds, a tree border around the ponds, stream bank restoration, and a previously designed option for a storm water management pond. The base contract period of performance for the final design documents is 56 days, and the construction is 70 days after receipt of notice to proceed. The magnitude of contract inclusive of options is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This procurement is 100% set aside for small business (SIC Code 1629 and $17M). See Numbered Note 1 and 26. Contract award will be made on the basis of the best value to the Government with price, technical, and past performance factors considered.
