The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with CTC Technologies, Inc., 7925-A North Oracle Road, Suite 364, Tucson, AZ 85704-6356 on a sole-source basis for one (1) Model 622 Special Conventional Langmuir-Blodgett Trough with new PS-4 Wilhelmy Plate Film Pressure Sensor and one (1) Stand-Alone pH and Temp Sensor. The Model 622 Langmuir-Blodgett apparatus shall provide: a) 1200 sq cm film covered area; b) dipping well at one end; c) linear dipper and vertical dipping holder; d) rectangular design; e) large surface area sufficient to accommodate a 4" diameter support; f) computer/feedback control of barrier movement; g) pre-programmable deposition; and h) Windows-driven interface. Required delivery is FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, within 60 days after contract award. The Government intends to solicit one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), "Only One Responsible Source." This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Written responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available. (0087)
