E-MAIL: click e-mail link to contact the POC, gaylerj%pk@mhs.elan.af.mil. The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) has a requirement for airborne flight test data acquisition systems. The bus used within the flight test data acquisition system must comply with the Common Airborne Instrumentation System (CAIS) Bus Interface Control Document (ICD). A copy of the CAIS Bus ICD is available on the listed web link. Required airborne flight test data acquisition systems shall collect any of the following types of data in a flight test environment: discrete, digital, analog, serial/parallel, 1553, H009, or ARINC 429 instrumentation bus data. This procurement activity is expected to be commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware, software, and firmware provided by various vendors. The flight test data acquisition system must be operable in various aircraft consisting of fighters, bombers, or in helicopter environments. All airborne hardware requiring programming must be provided with vendor's software and programming hardware. Components within the flight test data acquisition system must be capable of operating as a System Controller, a Remote Unit, or as a stand-alone unit.
