J -- REPAIR OF GENERATOR SOL SP071097R0019 DUE 041897 POC Linda Dodson, Contract Specialist -- (614) 692-3430 The Defense Supply Center, Columbus, Columbus, Ohio intends to procure the services of a contractor to furnish all plant, labor, material, supplies equipment, tools, delivery, disposal and supervision required to replace tubes in a generator located at the Central Heating Plant. The replacement will also require painting of surfaces, rehabilitation of high temperature water (HTW) generator, and testing of tube samples. Qualified contractors must possess appropriate ASME stamps with a valid certificate of authorization and shall be regularly engaged in the work of installing replacement tubes for high water temperature water generators, or watertube steam boilers, with design pressures through 600 psig. Only state certified welders who have qualified under performance tests as prescribed in Section IX Welding Qualification of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and have been approved for fusion pipe welding shall be permitted to make welded pipe joints. All State certified welders shall be in the employ of the contractor. Qualifications must be submitted with the bid package.
