The work of this project consists of the excavation, stockpiling, removal, transportation, and disposal of 12,200 CY of contaminated soil and 550 CY of contaminated debris (including formerly used waste containers) from various locations within the former Raritan Arsenal. Also included is the removal, transportation, and disposal of two steel underground storage tanks and three concrete underground storage tanks. Intact drums, requiring overpacks, are anticipated. Related work includes backfilling the excavations with uncontaminated materials from required excavations and certified clean fill, compaction, erosion and sedimentation control, surface water diversion, topsoiling and seeding, and bituminous concrete paving. Estimated cost of the work is between $1,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. Work shall be completed within 270 calendar days. Specifications available on or about 041497 at a cost of $15.00 per set.
