Naval Academy has a requirement for a Simplified Acquisition. I. This
is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the Format in FAR 12.6, supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; written quotations are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. II. This solicitation number
N00161-97-Q-0050 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). All
references to "offers" are understood to be "quotation". III. The
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 44. IV. FAR
52.219-6, Notice of Total Small Business Set-Aside is hereby
incorporated. The Standard Industrial Classificaiton code is 35 and the
small business size standard is 500. V. A list of contract line item
numbers and items, quantities and units of measure is: Clin 0001 Mine
Safety Appliance part # C-CM2131-6M431-1 MMR 30 minute air mask, 4500
PSI complete with case and black rino harness with Firefly IPA,
quantity 12 each. Clin 0002 Mine Safety Appliance part #809809 Black
face piece, quantity 23 each. Clin 0003 Mine Safety Appliance part #
801287 500 PSI Airbottle, quantity 12 each. Clin 0004 Mine Safety
Appliance Bottle brackets for 4500 PSI air bottle, quantity 16 each.
VII. F.O.B. Destination: Receiving Officer, Hangar Building 234, U.S.
Naval Station, Annapolis, MD 21402-5070. VIII. FAR 52.212-1
Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Item, is incorporated by reference
and applies to this acquisition. IX. Evaluation: The Government will
award a purchase order resulting from this solicitation/request for
quotation to the responsible offeror whose quotation conforming to the
solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and
other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to
evaluate quotations: (i) technical capability of the item/service
offered to meet the Government requirements and (ii) price. technical
is approximately equal to price in terms of evaluation. X. Oferors
shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3,
Offerors Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, and DFAR
252-212-7000 Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial
Items with its written quotation. XI. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and
Conditions-Commercial Item is incorporated by reference and applies to
this acquisition and resulting purchase order. The following terms and
conditions are added as an addendum to this clause: Type of Purchase
Order. the resulting purchase order will be a firm fixed price purchase
