70 -- SOFTWARE SUPPORT/LICENSE DUE 032897 POC Joanne Tarr Tel: (410) 965-9474 The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to issue a sole- source purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures to the SAS Institute, SAS Campus Drive, Cary, NC 27513 for the continued annual licensing and support on the following SAS Institute software products which are currently licensed and installed on a mainframe system located in the SSA's National Computer Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The software licensed and supported are proprietary SAS Institute software products, BASE System 2000, and the Multi-User Option. SAS Institute is the only known source which can provide the required licensing and support as the title to the software is proprietary to the SAS Institute and support and licensing is not available through dealers or other third parties. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication. Any responsible firm that feels it has the capability to provide this software license and support to SSA may contact the referenced Contracting Officer, Joanne Tarr with a quotation no later than 15 calendar days after the issue date of this synopsis.
