Contractor shall provide Hydraulic Rubber Molding Press as follows: One each, Wabash MPI Hydraulic Compression Press, Model 200H-24-BCL with 24 x 24 inch fully insulated guided heated platens (cartridge type), 12"-24" open daylight (adjustable), 12" stroke, JIC clamp cylinder, 42" lower platen operating height, 20 HP TEFC motor, 70 gallon resevoir with access panel oil level and temperature indication, suction line strainer, water-cooled heat exchanger, 10 micron absolute return line cartridge filter, 100 IPM closing speed, 5 IPM pressing speed, 100 IPM opening speed, NEMA-rated electrical control enclosure (programmable with access module), operating controls including two hand anti-tie down circuits, indicating lights, proximity switches, clamp pressure relief valve and gauge, and 210/3/60 supply voltage, automatic "bump", platen cooling and low pressure system. One lot, start-up assistance at ARL-Aberdeen; electrical disconnect, non-fused; pressing speed control; water saver valve; 230/60 supply voltage; digital force display; electronic force control with digital display; isolation of pump and motor. It is intended to award this contract to Wabash MPI, Inc., Wabash, IN on a sole source basis. Market survey revealed that there is no other known source able to furnish a press satisfying certain needed performance criteria. Other sources were somewhat limited in versatility and did not include all required control and safety features.
