Saint Louis, 304/636-1800, ext. 265 The Forest Service anticipates contracting for the rental of equipment with operator for the flood repair work on the Big Bend Road No. 809, Monongahela National Forest, Potomac Ranger District, Pendleton County, West Virginia. The project can be reached by traveling US Rt. 220 and State Secondary Rt. 2, 20.3 miles north of Franklin, WV; 8.3 miles north of Upper Tract, WV; or 16.3 miles south of Petersburg, WV. The work consists of placing and compacting embankment, installing Government-furnished ditch relief CMP, resetting one joint of 3'x5'x8' concrete pipe arch, cleaning inlet and outlet channels, placing and compacting Government-furnished riprap and grading existing roadbed, including pulling and reshaping ditches on 3.2 miles of single lane road with turnouts. The equipment required includes three (3) triaxle dump trucks for 200 hours each; one crawler loader, minimum 110 HP, for 200 hours; one grader, minimum 125 HP, for 60 hours; one dozer, minimum 70 HP, for 250 hours; one excavator, minimum 125 HP, for 200 hours; one 6 Ton vibratory roller, minimum 60 HP, for 240 hours; and two (2) wackers for 200 hours each. The Department of Labor Wage Rates of $11.46 + $.90 applies to the Heavy Equipment Operators; $10.69 + $.90 applies to the Triaxle Operators; and $6.92 + $.90 applies to the Wacker Operators. Oral quotations will be received in the above office until 4:45 PM on March 19, 1997. The work will be started as soon as possible after quotations are received.
