66 -- SIGNAL GENERATOR SOL 99818CH POC Charles A. Hughes 816/823-1342 The U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA, intends to purchase the following item under the guidelines of FAR Part 13. The Government requires 10 each Marconi Model 2024 Signal Generators, NSN: 6660-00-932-7229. The Government believes that Marconi is the only known manufacturer who can offer the National Weather Service a signal generator with an internal programmable amplitude and pulse modulator. The model 2024 also accommodates PSK, QAM, and two and four level FSK digital modulation. The Marconi 2024 also offers the minimum requirements needed to align the ART-1 and ART-2 they are as follows: Frequency Range, 1615 to 1715; Pulse Repetition Frequency, 33 Hz to 1Khz adjustable by front panel control); Pulse Width, 100 usec (+/- 5 usec); Rise Time <2 usec; Modulation >30dB on-off ratio, pulses only; External AM, DC to 1 Khz; Internal AM, Adjustable depth and adjustable frequency via the front panel control; Incidental FM, <2.5KHz k; Internal Programmable Modulation Source, (simultaneousAM and Pulse Modulation); AM Modulation, 0.01 Hz to 20 Khz, Pulse Modulation, 33 Hz to 1 KHz. The items are being purchased in support of the U.S. Dept. of Commerce/NOAA, National Weather Service, National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, Missouri. The Government intends to contract with Marconi Instruments for the equipment. The proposed procurement action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit to only one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This is not a call for proposals and no solicitation will be issued. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days of it's publication.
